Edinburgh International Festival 2008

The Edinburgh International Festival is the world's largest arts festival with a phenomenal record of success since its inception in 1947
takes place each year in Edinburgh and the dates for the 2008 Edinburgh Festival have officially been
announced and are from 8 August to 31August, 2008.
The range of activities in 2006 and 2007 included traditional and modern Opera, from Mozart and Tchaikovsky to the
world premiere of The Assassin Tree with music by Stuart Macrae and words by Simon Armitage.
The Edinburgh International Festival 2007 held The British premiere of Balanchine's Don Quixote "Tilting at windmills", with input from Scottish
Ballet producing what The Independent described as 'A genuinely exciting evening.' and with some of the
international flavour provided by the Nederlands Dans Theater. This year as every Year an exciting programme of innovative
works will be produced to cater for all tastes.
But don't forget that Edinburgh Festival Fringe - the world's largest arts festival - runs in parallel and the Fringe dates for 2008 are 3-25 August
